For women only; no previous yoga experience necessary.
If you struggle with an eating disorder, misplaced hunger, or compulsive food strategies, this workshop offers relief. There are hungers in the psyche that cannot be fed with food and spiritual appetites that cannot be satisfied through food management strategies. When these “hungers of the heart”—for connection, creativity, aliveness, ease, and refuge —are confused with physical hunger, we lose the ability to rest in the innate wisdom and love that is the center of a sacred life.
While compulsive eating, exercising, and dieting, or binge and purge cycles are originally intended to help manage painful experiences, they eventually become painful experiences themselves. We explore these complex behaviors in the spirit of sisterhood, kindness, and transparency as a road to recovery. This workshop includes
• Presentation on the cycle of addiction and the nature of shame
• Exercises to develop mindfulness and tolerance of distress
• Strategies for self-nurturance and sustaining recovery in turbulent times
• The support of yoga, meditation, and pranayama.
Come develop new skills and learn to live in emotional and physical balance.
